1. Who we are

AV E-Library (ave-library.site) is a free academic library portal for students, teachers and administrators. It is developed and managed by the AV E-Library Team.

2. Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, phone number, role (student, teacher or admin), department and designation, given when you register or when an administrator creates your account.
• Password: stored only as a secure one-way hash. Nobody, including administrators, can see your actual password.
• Content you submit: files, cover images, titles and descriptions you upload or send for approval.
• Basic technical data: login session information and, for password reset requests, the IP address of the request (used to prevent misuse).

3. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account and let you log in.
• To show you the right dashboard and library resources for your role.
• To review and publish content you submit.
• To send you account emails, such as password reset links.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with advertisers or other third parties.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie and your browser's local storage only to keep you logged in and to remember basic settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

5. How we protect your data

• The website uses a secure HTTPS connection.
• Passwords are hashed and never stored or sent in plain text.
• Password reset links expire after 60 minutes and can be used only once.
• Only administrators can view and manage user accounts.

6. Your choices

• You can update your name, phone number and other profile details from your Profile page.
• You can change your password at any time, or reset it using “Forgot Password”.
• To delete your account or your uploaded content, please contact the library administrator.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with its updated date.
